Growing marijuana outdoors - pros and cons

Growing marijuana outdoors - pros and cons
Содержание:

Different continents, countries, and cities have different climates. Therefore, growing marijuana seeds outdoors is a very sensitive process. The grower, before starting the cultivation of the crop, will need to fully study the soil: find out what type of soil the substrate belongs to, whether the soil contains impurities, and what is the pH and EC level. (We do not call for the cultivation of marijuana if you are in a country where it is prohibited (for example, in Ukraine), the material is of a general familiarization nature for all persons on the globe).

Growing cannabis outdoors has its benefits. Often, experienced growers who want to get a big harvest with powerful THC will choose the outdoor grower.

The Benefits of Growing Marijuana Outdoors

Low costs

Relying on the power of the sun, you won't need to spend money on additional equipment. You will need soil and fertilizer, as well as the selected variety of cannabis seeds. There will be no need to pay for electricity for lighting, AC units or dehumidifiers.

Great yields

There is no limit to outdoor plants - you can let them get as big and tall as you want, as long as they are manageable. Outdoor varieties can reach a height of up to 4 m, and this is not the limit. When growing indoors, your space is more limited.

Everyone knows that photoperiodic varieties have high yields. In one season, plants can give up to two kilograms of inflorescence.

Eco-friendly

It takes a ton of electricity to power all the lamps, fans and other equipment. Such equipment increases the level of radiation in the room.

The pleasure of growing

Don't underestimate the therapeutic value of gardening. It's nice to spend some time outdoors, roll up your sleeves and get your hands a little dirty.

Disadvantages of growing marijuana outdoors

Insect invasions

Outdoor plants have a chance of being attacked by insects. Cicada, mealy worm, trips, aphids - these pests can bring a lot of trouble. In order to save the crop, it is necessary to identify pests in the early stages of damage.

Fungal diseases

The most dangerous type of disease. It is difficult to treat and can kill the entire plant if not properly treated. To prevent this from happening, the substrate, before planting the cuttings, is sent for analysis. This is the safest and most reliable way to protect the bush from a fungal disease.

When to start outdoor

Feminized cannabis strains are ideal for outdoor cultivation. They have a long life cycle and long flowering, but thanks to this, the grower can get a heavy crop with high levels of THC and many quality clones.

You need to start preparing the soil in early spring, as soon as it warms up. After a long and cold winter, it is all compressed and there is very little air in it, so the first step will be loosening the soil. Then the soil must be saturated not only with air and moisture, but also with useful substances: N, P, K, coconut fiber, ash, and peat.

Once the soil is ready, you can begin to germinate cannabis seeds. Experts recommend germinating them in a peat capsule or in mineral wool to provide the plant with the most necessary in the first days of life.

The landing in the ground should take place in early April. Here you need to focus only on weather conditions. If the soil is not warmed up to +12 C, you should not take risks so as not to lose the cutting.

Rules for growing outdoors

With feminized cannabis seeds, everything is quite simple: planted in the spring and harvested in the fall. The whole life cycle is quite similar with other crops: corn, rapeseed or wheat.

But how to grow autoflowers outdoors? The task is not easy, but doable. The cultivation of autoflowers needs to be approached more seriously and diligently. After all, autos don't have as strong immunity as feminized varieties, and even if they get sick, they won't have time to recover. It is up to the grower to grow a healthy plant and unleash its full potential so that it gives it its powerful fruits.

The planting of autoflowering marijuana varieties of the outdoors falls at the end of April, the beginning of May. The soil should warm up to +15 C, and pH = 5.5 - 6.5. Well-draining soil will not retain water, thereby reducing the potential for fungal diseases.

Features of growing large cannabis bushes

Large cannabis plants need a lot of space and a lot of attention. It's no secret that from feminized hemp seeds, bushes can be more stress-resistant and hardy enough. They can withstand strong gusts of wind, insect infestation and temporary drought.

Whether grown indoors under controlled conditions or outdoors under the sun, these strains are capable of rewarding the grower with excellent yields.

Experienced breeders have focused on yield when creating these strains, but they also boast more palatable flavors and a wider range of sensations.
